Write the chords.
Build the groove.
Shape the sound.

Chordial is a chord progression and rhythm generator with a full modular synthesizer built in - so an idea goes from harmony to finished sound without ever leaving the plugin.

An idea, start to finish

Most tools stop at MIDI. Chordial takes a progression, puts it on a rhythm, and plays it through a synth deep enough that you never have to bounce out to finish the thought.

Harmony

Shuffle a progression from a library of over 20,000, or build your own from 22,000+ chord variations - modal voicings, slash chords, alterations and extensions - across sixteen slots.

Rhythm

Two generators built on even-distribution (Euclidean) math: complete chord figures with harmonic content, and a lane-based drum grid. Roughly 36 genre presets, eight textures, and bars up to sixteen long.

Sound

Six selectable engines per voice, a per-voice modulation matrix, three LFOs, two multi-segment envelopes and a twelve-slot effects rack - all modulatable at audio rate.

Six engines, not six presets

Each voice runs an Engine 1 plus an optional Engine 2, and the two can frequency-modulate or ring-modulate each other. Engine swaps are glitch-free.

AnalogBand-limited virtual analog. Six waveforms, true PWM, soft-clip drive.
WavetableScanning oscillator with position as a full modulation target.
GranularGrain clouds - position, density, size, spread and per-grain pitch spray.
SamplerPitch and loop any audio file, with crossfaded loop modes.
ModalPhysical modelling. A struck body that bends sharp and glides back into tune.
Wave TerrainA loop dragged across a landscape hundreds of times a second. Move it and it lives.

Deep where it counts

Modulation is per-voice, so every note carries its own state - a slow filter sweep behaves correctly across a held chord.

  • Right-click any control to open its modulation dashboard
  • Three LFOs with tempo sync, Steps, Random and Wander shapes
  • Two MSEG editors, one of them freehand-drawable
  • Drawable velocity response curve, like a hardware keyboard
  • Kuramoto-coupled unison that drifts, then phase-locks
  • Four macros, assignable in both directions

Built to stay out of the way

The things that decide whether a plugin survives a real session.

  • Everything you generate is royalty-free
  • Works fully offline - no online check, ever
  • Five machine activations per licence
  • Spoken UI, high-visibility theme and full mouseless navigation
  • Scales to any window size, and follows your DAW's tempo
  • Drag MIDI straight out into your project

Start with a chord. Leave with a track.
